Do you work in the field of indoor air quality (IAQ)? The Council- certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE) is the most popular indoor air quality certification. If you investigate air quality problems such as mold, VOCs, allergens, dampness, poor ventilation and sick building syndrome, the CIE is great certification to substantiate your knowledge and experience.
The online class consists of videos that you watch at your own pace. It takes about 32 hours to complete the online course. Online students get access to the videos for 90 days and indefinitely keep the course manual for future reference. Extensions for access beyond 90 days can be purchased for a fee.
This will give you access to our CIE/CIEC practice exam. This exam has over 100 questions will test you over the same material that will be on the certification exam. The Onsite course is a 2-day accelerated program that prepares students for the CMR exam while teaching the fundamentals of mold remediation. In the class, we’ll go through 100+ practice questions to get you prepared. We also have an interactive time where we discuss important topics such as writing remediation plans and “clearance” sampling. Students receive a course manual that will be an excellent study guide as you prepare for the examination.

The online class is approximately 24 hours of material to cover online. You will log into our website and watch a powerpoint presentation. The audio of the instruction is sychronized with bullet points, pictures and pop quizes. You’ll need a computer with speakers or a separate headset to view the class. You have 90 days to complete the course, but extensions are available for purchase for a small fee if you need more time. Upon completion, you indefinitely keep the course manual for future reference.
This will give you access to our CMI/CMIC/CSMI practice exam. This exam has over 100 questions will test you over the same material that will be on the certification exam. You will have access for 90 days, which you can take the exam as many times as you want. An extention for access past 90 days can be purchased at a fee.
Our CIAQM online course will take a minimum of 16 hours to complete. Our online course is self-paced so you can break up the training content to fit your busy schedule. The online training is interactive using audio synchronized to text and pictures to keep your attention and interest. You will be able to save the entire text portion of the course as a PDF file so you can reference the material even after you have completed the course.

This two-hour course is taught by Jason Dobranic, Ph.D. The course is designed for indoor air quality and mold professionals who want to learn more about microbiology. By understanding why microorganisms can grow indoors, you will be better suited to find the growth, solve the underlying problems, and prevent future problems.
About the Instructor:
Dr. Dobranic is an accomplished mycologist (fungal ecology) having studied and worked with fungi for over 20 years with publications in peer reviewed mycological journals (Mycologia, Canadian Journal of Botany). He has presented his research at national and international conferences. His expertise includes the identification of microorganisms from environmental samples.
Dr. Dobranic is the National Director of Microbiology for EMSL Analytical, Inc and has presented mold issues at over 50 national seminars and has several industry-related articles published in trade magazines. Dr. Dobranic appeared in a production of the Oprah Winfrey show as an expert on bacteria and indoor allergens. His laboratory management emphasis has been on maintaining the highest level of quality assurance possible. Dr. Dobranic is a member of the Mycological Society of America, ASTM International, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (secretary for the Biosafety and Environmental Microbiology Committee), AIHA’s LQAP Analytical Accreditation Board and Mold Task Force, and was selected to attend AIHA’s first ever Future Leaders Institute training program. Dr. Dobranic is a founding board member of the local Philadelphia IAQA chapter and is a member of the Research Committee for the national IAQA.
